Abia State

USA, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, The Netherlands, England, France, Ghana, South Africa.
How did you first get into fashion designing?
I
had this Nintendo DS game called "Imagine: Fashion Designer" and
"Imagine: Interior Designer" In fact that is when I discovered the term
Design.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Ankara. That's all I can think of.
What do you find the most frustrating aspect of being a fashion designer?
Running up and down, Models not listening to you, The weather messing your plans.
Could you describe a Typical workday for You?
My days are pretty random so I can't really.
Why did you choose to be doing this?
At
first it was to give Africans in Dublin a means to wear Designs from
the Motherland but then Nigeria's Economy chose to fall so, it's 50% for
the people and 50% to survive.
How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?
I
can't describe my personal style cause it's very vague but my fashion
inspirations of whom I'd like to dress like consists of my Mother, Nini
Okey-Uche, her sister, Somachi Kachikwu and Naeto C's Wife, Nicole
Chukwueke!
At what age did you start being fascinated with fashion?
For one of my birthdays I was given a MySpace Doll design book were I had to design fashion items so I guess it stuck.
How do you stay updated on current trends?
Twitter & Tumblr
Who's your favorite designer of all time?
Amède
and Charvide! They are the first Nigerian Designers that I ever met!
I'm not a huge fan of all them Oyibo type of designers but I like their jewelries though.
Do you attend fashion weeks or fashion related events?
I only have time for Fashion shows because they are mostly at weekends.
What's the most treasured item in closet?
My underwear! I don't get how some girls leave the homes with no undies!?
How has being an entrepreneur affected your Family?
I
guess they are proud of me because beside being super busy and
struggling with the balance of school, fun and business I'm still kinda
copping. The other day my mom sent me a text saying that she is happy I
am now a {Working-Class Babe}.
How do you market yourself and get your designs and clothes out there?
Before
I had even created our social media platforms My manager Maxwell had
booked a space for a fashion show. That was my first Show and from there
people started asking for my details, prices, and all and its from
there that I was like "Hey they actually like my stuff!" Since that day
marketing wasn't a problem because after every show people would come
to see me and tell me they are either interested or can they pay on the
spot for some.
What do you do for fun when your not working?
- Sleep
- Party
- Cook
What's your ideal man like?
- Tall
- Smart
- Not Oyibo Biko.
- Funny
- God fearing
- Respectful

What's your dress sense like?
Laid-back
Bohemian Party goer. Like my friends know that if I had my way I'd be
in Leggings and a hoodie with palms but when the need arises like
Parties and Church I go all out and dress like I'm about to meet my
future husband.
What's your most Valuable item?
My Phone!
What is it about your style that sets you apart from others in this same Business?
Besides
the fact that I provide already made African clothes, nothing really.
It's in Dublin that I stand out more. There is one other African
Designers in Dublin but he specialize in specific designs, like bow ties
and pocket squares. Meanwhile I offer the same but more, we have basic
things that can be sown by any Nigerian trailer like Skirts, Blazers,
etc, but then we have some items that people don't generally make like
laces. Honestly I think that's pretty cool.
How do you balance your Job and school Work?
Because
Nimi L'Africaine is better known in Dublin, I have a manager. His name
is Maxwell. He handles everything for me when I'm to busy with school.
Law isn't easy btw! I don't even know who sent me.
What are some common Fashion mistakes Women Make?
To
be very honest, I don't know. I make so many fashion errors myself so
it would be hypocritical of me to point out mistakes others may have
made.
What outfit do you think every Lady should have in her closet?
A black short dress!
What other projects are you working On?
I haven't told anyone this but I'm Low key writing a book. Not like a huge
novel, more like a novella with a bunch of stories for pre-teens.
Where do you see yourself in 5years?
